I'm fairly certain that the previous reviews are not directed towards the product itself but towards semantics of delivery (which is almost always out of Amazon's control) and publishing aspects. As a student who has used other texts at a liberal arts high school, I can say with confidence that this text that I've used at home has prevented many anxiety attacks and has sured up my confidence in conversational Spanish. If the original edition is not what you're looking for and you've explicitly searched for this expanded edition--you've been graced by luck, because this text is based off of an instructional method of meta-grammar that was renowned when the product was first released in 1999. This is a fantastic resource and I don't know where I would be without it.
