Principles of Behavioral Genetics Review

This is an excellent jumping off point for studying behavioral genetics in an undergraduate setting. Anyone who has taken a few college level biology/genetics classes should feel comfortable with the terminology and pacing. Much of the basic principles are covered: how to measure behavior, QTL analysis, genomics, quantitative vs Mendelian traits. The last chapters offer a smorgasbord of topics that give a taste of how broad this field is. Graduate level readers may find something new if they don't have good background, but it's not worth the price for that limited use.

As with any textbook covering a quickly evolving field, this will lose relevance in a couple of years. If I were designing a class in behavioral genetics for the college level I would recommend this book to supplement, but it's not strong enough on its own to warrant basing a class off of it.
