"There is no other book in the field that covers the scope of material that is inside this comprehensive text. The work might be best summed up as being a clinical neuropsychology postdoctoral residency in a book, with the most up to date information available, so that it is also an indispensible book for practicing neuropsychologists in addition to students and residents…There is really no book like this available today. It skillfully brings together the most important foundationsof clinical neuropsychology with the 'nuts and bolts' of every facet of assessment. It also reminds the more weathered neuropsychologists among us of the essential value of neuropsychological assessment the impact of the disease on the patient s cognitive functioning and behavior may only be objectively quantified through a neuropsychological assessment."

I held back writing this review for 6 weeks, hoping that my email to Springer might prompt them to submit some type of update; but they have not. The one, major problem for anyone thinking about purchasing the kindle edition of the book is this: there is NO TABLE of CONTENTS!! Really. Obviously, the hard copy book has one, but the lack of a TOC in a ebook basically renders it worthless. You either have to read the thing straight through (not was this book was meant for, by the way)and highlight things you would like to return to manually or simply try to enter random page locations hoping you find the right material (good luck with that given there are over 10,000 "locations" you could enter). So bottom line is this: I have no idea if this book is any good because the publisher made a GLARING error in not providing a TOC. Colleagues with the hard copy had recommended it, and since I prefer to purchase electronic texts when available, I did so with this book. Big mistake (and I have over 30 kindle edition texts, all have usable, hyperlinked TOC's).Most of the consumer Reviews tell that the "The Little Black Book of Neuropsychology: A Syndrome-Based Approach" are high quality item. You can read each testimony from consumers to find out cons and pros from The Little Black Book of Neuropsychology: A Syndrome-Based Approach ...
